BYD is turning to star power as it prepares to launch the Denza Z9 GT in Europe, bringing in Daniel Craig to help introduce the brand’s latest high-end EV.
The former James Bond actor fronts the campaign as BYD positions Denza as a serious luxury contender in the European market.

Set to arrive in Europe on April 8, 2026, the Denza Z9 GT is a premium electric shooting brake designed to combine long-distance capability, high performance, and ultra-fast charging.
BYD says the model uses its new 122 kWh Blade Battery and can deliver up to 800 km (497 miles) of WLTP range in rear-wheel-drive form.

Performance is a major part of the pitch. The Z9 GT features a triple-motor setup producing nearly 1,000 horsepower (960 PS), with BYD claiming a 0–100 km/h time of under three seconds.

Charging is another headline feature. BYD says its new Flash Charging system can add power from 10% to 70% in five minutes, reach 10% to 97% in nine minutes, and still perform in extreme cold with only a modest slowdown.
The company says its new charging stations can deliver up to 1,500 kW.

The launch comes as BYD accelerates its overseas push. Electrek reports the automaker sold more than 4.6 million new energy vehicles last year and ranked sixth globally in auto sales in 2025.
In Europe, BYD also reportedly outsold Tesla for the second straight month, underscoring the company’s growing momentum in the region.

With Daniel Craig attached to the rollout, BYD is clearly aiming to give Denza a more premium, lifestyle-led identity as it expands beyond China. For Europe’s luxury EV buyers, the Z9 GT looks like BYD’s boldest statement yet.
