The short answer

Almost every EV sold new in America can charge at a Tesla Supercharger. Cars from the 2026 and 2027 model years usually plug straight in; older ones need an adapter.

The exceptions are pre-2026 Nissan LEAFs, which use a port Superchargers cannot connect to, and the Audi Q4 e-tron, which has no approved adapter yet.

Non-Tesla EVs can use V3 and V4 Superchargers; older V2 sites remain Tesla-only, and the Tesla app shows which locations are open to you. “Adapter” means a NACS-to-CCS1 DC adapter; buy the one your automaker approves. Status reflects automaker announcements and model-year specifications as of September 2026. When in doubt, look at the charge port itself.
⚡ Plug in anywhere
The right adapter opens the Supercharger network.
If your car still has a CCS or J1772 port, an adapter is how it uses Tesla chargers once it has access. These are the two we would buy.
