Americans are Working to Feed Their Cars

Via TreeHugger: James Schwartz writes The Urban Country ” to show that using a bicycle for transportation is fast, fun and healthy & improves our cities, our people and the world.” He also occasionally writes about how using a car for transportation is slow, annoying, polluting and destroys our cities, our people and the world.ContinueContinue reading “Americans are Working to Feed Their Cars”

Cars of the ‘Future’

Oh, what a world we thought we were going to live in. “Bubble” cars, walking automobiles, even cars concepted to run off of small nuclear reactors. All of this and more was the future that 1940s, 50s and 60s made us believe was just around the corner.

Toxic cities mock ‘healthy’ cycle riding – Times Online

Highly disturbing and frustrating article on biking. “CYCLING to work may seem the healthy option, but a study has shown that people riding in cities inhale tens of millions of toxic nanoparticles with every breath, at least five times more than drivers or pedestrians.” Continue reading…. GM is Not Made up of All Old White Men, Afterall.

After GM and Chrysler filed for bankruptcy last year, it was hard for a car geek like myself to give them much respect.  Visions of executive boardrooms with bloated, out-of-touch white men running the show,  filled my head. Late model American cars like the Sebring and Impala epitomize the worst thinking in automotive design today.ContinueContinue reading “GM is Not Made up of All Old White Men, Afterall.”
