The first two of the bunch.

I have some very progressive neighbors. Within a 5-minute bikeride of my home, there are a handful of families that drive electric cars and trucks. They are tiny, three-wheeled contraptions, made in China and severely limited in range or capability. But I definitely give the early EcoAdopters credit.

This winter, however, the first two mainstream electric/electric-ish cars arrive in showrooms. The first being the Nissan Leaf, and the second the Chevrolet Volt, an extended-range hybrid electric.  Both are made in America, both took millions of dollars of r&d (GM has spent up to $1bn on the development of the Volt).

I’ve seen neither of them in person, but they both look dorky and cool, and sport clean, futuristic interiors.Which do you like better?
