Xiaomi just revealed a wild new electric concept car for Gran Turismo 7, and it’s exactly the kind of thing you’d expect from a company trying to announce itself on the world stage.

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Xiaomi showed off the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Vision GT), a two-door electric “hypercar” concept designed specifically for the game. They also brought a full-scale physical model to show what it looks like in real life.

What it is
The Vision GT is a purpose-built fantasy car for GT7, but Xiaomi is still using it to talk about real EV tech. The company says the concept is based on its 900-volt silicon-carbide platform, which is the kind of high-voltage architecture that can support faster charging and strong performance.

What it looks like
It’s low, sharp, and very “video game concept car,” in a good way. The body is all about aero, with sculpted surfaces and exaggerated proportions that look built for speed.

Inside, Xiaomi went full cockpit mode: a fighter-jet vibe, a wide display integrated across the dash area, and an F1-style yoke with screens and controls.

Why this matters
This isn’t Xiaomi saying “we’re building this tomorrow.” It’s Xiaomi saying “we belong in the same conversation as performance EV brands.” Gran Turismo is a huge stage, and Xiaomi has been working to get its cars in front of that audience. The Vision GT is basically a spotlight move: show something dramatic, tie it to your tech story, and build hype.
