When a brand known for polished crossovers shows up with charcoal-painted fenders, 33-inch off-road tyres and a digital camo wrap, you know something interesting is happening.
Enter the Hyundai Crater Concept — a design statement that looks like it’s poised to brawl with the likes of the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler, even if it might not quite be ready to trade punches just yet.

Design that says “trail-ready”
Hyundai cranked up the rugged cues: aggressive wheel-arches, near-vertical roofline, high ride height and minimal overhangs — all signals that this isn’t the typical soft-roader.

Inside, the dashboard transforms into something more art-object than control panel: a cylindrical module suspended by straps, removable square screens, warm rust-orange light, and curved upholstery that eschews hard plastics.

Electric heart, off-road ambitions
Hyundai hasn’t confirmed full details, but it’s clear the Crater plays electric: the design nods to EV styling (closed grille, smooth surfaces) and the speculation points to an 84 kWh battery with dual motors — about 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque, if the guesses are right.

Even more interesting: the interior features toggles for low-range and locking differentials — suggesting this concept isn’t just about looking rugged, but imagining what real trail chops for an EV could be.
