Saab Isn’t Coming Back, But This Electric Concept Reminds Us Why It Mattered
Saab as we knew it is long gone, but every so often a design pops up that makes you wish it wasn’t.
This latest electric concept does exactly that. It manages to look unmistakably Saab without feeling retro, pulling the brand’s DNA into something sleek, restrained, and surprisingly timeless.

The body is one smooth gesture, clean, aerodynamic, and almost modest compared to the sharp-edged EVs flooding the market.
The turbine-inspired wheels are a wink at Saab’s aerospace heritage, while the full glass canopy recalls those wonderfully airy Saab cabins of old. It’s Scandinavian in the best sense: clear, functional, and quietly confident.
The design is the work of David Sova, based in the Czech Republic.

Inside, flashes of red upholstery peek through the minimalist greenhouse. It’s bold, but not flashy, more design studio than concept car cliché. The dashboard avoids the trend of tech overload and instead looks thoughtfully pared back.
You can actually imagine yourself driving this thing every day, which is more than can be said for most futuristic renders.

What stands out most is how usable the proportions feel. Long roofline, big windows, wheels pushed to the corners—it looks practical and versatile, not just swoopy for the sake of it. That balance of everyday sensibility and design flair is exactly what made Saabs so loved by their loyal drivers.

Of course, this is just a concept. There’s no factory tooling up in Trollhättan. But it does suggest a path that EVs don’t often take, one rooted in clarity rather than excess.

In a world of hyper-aggressive electric crossovers and oversized screens, this quiet little Saab homage feels like a breath of fresh air.
