You’d be right for thinking that the Subaru Solterra was a phoned-in effort. The partnership with Toyota netted a vehicle that was pretty disappointing from a driving, range, and handling perspective.

Now, the brand is expanding their EV offerings. Finally.
The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is Subaru’s latest all-electric SUV, unveiled on April 16, 2025.

Building upon the Solterra platform, the Trailseeker offers a larger and more rugged design, featuring a six-inch longer body and nearly one-inch taller profile for enhanced cargo space.

Equipped with dual electric motors producing 375 horsepower, it boasts standard all-wheel drive, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. The vehicle houses a 75 kWh battery, delivering an estimated range of 260 miles, and supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW via a standard NACS port, allowing access to Tesla Supercharger stations.

Inside, the Trailseeker features a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two 15W wireless smartphone chargers, and two rear USB-C ports. Advanced safety is provided by Subaru’s EyeSight suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking.
The Trailseeker is expected to start at approximately $45,000 when it arrives in 2026.
