Kia’s Small Yet Mighty EV2 Is Coming Soon

As EVs become more affordable and more advanced, they are quickly becoming an obvious replacement for gas-powered cars.

Prices for new EVs have dropped significantly, despite battery technology and features getting better and better.

Kia has been on a roll with their lineup, and the EV2 Concept shows no sign of that momentum slowing down.

The diminutive crossover is their smallest EV yet, though the shape offers up a surprisingly spacious interior, which is full of design touches. With expected entry prices of around $32,000, it’s reaching parity with gas-cars quickly, and looks better while doing it.

From a sliding bench seat, to stylish interior lighting, to a display panel for passersby that shows text messages, the concept feels like the right balance of futuristic and clean simplicity.

Knowing that this will be an entry-level EV, Kia is working to keep costs down, which still making the overall shape and fit and finish feel premium. We like the multi-colored textured cloth, and maroon-colored steering wheel, which feels properly futuristic.

Will the suicide-doors make it to production? Doubtful, but it’s fun to see automakers continue to push the idea.

Expect to see the EV2 hit roads in 2026. See more from Kia’s website
